Rainy Day!!

We FINALLY got some much needed rain here in Corpus...it has been quite a while since it had rain so Kaede was unsure of the thunder and lightening but was still very curious to check it out! He takes his rain boots out of his closet all the time and he finally could wear them!

It was only 3 o'clock when I took this picture and very dark out!! Kaede was VERY proud of his rain boots!
When the rain finally stopped there were TONS of puddles to play in. The sun came out and we definitely did not hesitate to go out and have some fun.

I was unsure of what Kaede was trying to accomplish until I looked closer... and he was trying to drink the water!

...And thought it was absolutely hilarious!

Kaede went over to one of the chairs by the pool and took a break from all of his splashing.

And then went to play in the mud!

Kaede had so much fun in the puddles...now time to battle the mosquitoes!

The Life of Mr. Beans

December 23, 2010 a green fuzzy monkey came into Kaede's life from his Uncle Marc and Aunt Michelle as a welcome to the world present. It had no name and hung out in Kaede's crib most of the time. Kaede was about 6 months old when he started being attached to the monkey but it was nothing serious, he just liked to have him when he slept. When we moved to our apartment when Kaede was about 10 months old the monkey started hanging out with the family instead of just in Kaede's crib. Soon after he acquired the name Mr. Beans!

Little did we know how important Mr. Beans was to Kaede! He is a great sleeping buddy for Kaede!
Mr. Beans also travels all over the place!!
Mr. Beans has been to the San Antonio Zoo!

For Kaede's 1st birthday Aunt Michelle got Kaede a back up Mr. Beans due to the fact that Mr. Beans was getting pretty beaten up! We have used him a few times but he pretty much lives in the closet!

Mr. Beans ate lunch with the family in Port Aransas!

Mr. Beans and Kaede are ready to watch the Celtics game!

Mr. Beans must get a good nap in!!

Mr. Beans went to H-E-B!

Mr. Beans got a much needed bath!

Mr. Beans often goes to Stroller Strides in the mornings!

And of course Mr. Beans gets LOTS of hugs!

Mr. Beans enjoys watching TV with Kaede

Recently Mr. Beans joined us at the Driscoll Urgent Care center when Kaede had a 104 fever!
Today Mr. Beans joined Kaede on our afternoon wagon ride!!

Mr. Beans is usually always in a close radius to Kaede! When we ask Kaede where Mr. Beans is he quickly runs and gets him! This is an extremely small list of all the places Mr. Beans joins us!

We love Mr. Beans!!

Slide = Too much fun!

One of Kaede's good friends has a bigger version of this slide and Kaede LOVES to play on it! I have never been into craigslist but I got on one day to look for the Little Tykes Coupe Car and instead came across this! It was an absolute steal! I couldn't pass it up! It was less than a year old in perfect condition except the slide was sun faded! After buying it and bringing it upstairs Kaede instantly got on it! -- My next issue....where to put it in a small apartment! I didn't want to take Kaede's rocking chair out of his room but it was time! I don't remember the last time I rocked since I started just laying him down so he could fall asleep alone. So out went the rocking chair, in came the slide!!
Needless to say, he was very excited! The slide is definitely Kaede's favorite thing to do at the park so perfect we can slide inside too!
Except now his room isn't a baby room but rather a toddler room that is overcome by huge toys!!

1st Dentist Visit

Kaede went to the dentist for the first time this past week! I was nervous on how he would do since it is a battle everyday for me to brush his teeth thoroughly, and on top of that it was the MIDDLE of nap tie and he hadn't even had a minute of sleep since he woke up! He did surprisingly well! He got a little bored while we were waiting to see the dentist but they gave his some toys from the treasure box!

The dentist says his teeth look great! AND No cavities (despite ALL the jelly beans he had eaten over Easter!!)

The sad news that Kaede got was that by the age of TWO the passy fairy has to come take all his passsys... I'm not sure how that will go seeing as he is not only obsessed with them and always has one in his mouth and a spare in his hand, but we will certainly work on it!!

Swimming!!

There have been several days where it has been warm enough to test out the pool! I have been having problems finding a floaty that Kaede will relax and sit in in the pool instead of being attatched to me the whole time. So I picked up some arm floaties to see how that would go!
This picture cracks me up! He was excited the whole time I was blowing these up and was a trooper and let me put all of his "gear" on. But then he didn't know what to do! He left them on the whole wagon ride to the pool but then was over it! (By the way the arm floaties don't work and he pulls off the turtle)

He always takes a few minutes to warm up to the pool with his feet in the water. Granted the water was chilly when the wind would blow!

He lasts in the floaty about 1 minute and then is over it! When he is done swimming he lets me know he wants out of the water and will play on the chair!

Kaede got his wagon for Christmas but we haven't used it much because I have to haul it downstairs everytime we use it! It is so much easier going to the pool in the wagon so we have been leaving it in the living room for a few days...Kaede thinks it is his new chair!!

Easter Day

I was excited for Easter to come, I had been picking up things here and there for Kaede's Easter basket! When I was putting it together I realized how much stuff I had collected! Tony had to work all day so I waited for him to get home so we could give Kaede his Easter basket together!

Of course the first thing he found was the ONLY Easter egg that I put in the basket! Unfortunately there was no candy in there for him, I figured he had enough jelly beans in the past week to last him until next Easter!
Last summer my mom found one of these light up glow sticks for the 4th of July, he played with it until the lights burned out. So I was excited when I found a sports one!

One of Kaede's favorite things is this baseball glove and ball that Grammy got him! The glove fits him perfectly and the ball sticks to glove!! I thought it was time for Kaede to experience chalk! We don't have much room on our front patio to draw but it was just enough space for Kaede! He couldn't figure out how the chalk work so........

He tried to eat them!! He quickly realized they don't taste all that great!
Kaede and I made the best of Easter even though Tony had to work!

I did make sure that I made a holiday handprint shirt for Easter!! This one was definitely challange because I had to manage to only have paint on two fingers and his palm and hoped he didn't close his hand! But they turned out good!
We also took Kaede to see the Easter bunny and he did GREAT!! He was apprehensive at first but once he touched its leg he was okay with sitting on his lap!

New Camera / New Life Adventure!

I have been contemplating changing my major since late last year. I know it sounds absolutely crazy seeing as I had a little less than two years left. Ever since I was in elementary school I wanted to grow up and be a teacher and never even considered getting a degree in anything else. But after having Kaede and having the amazing opportunity to stay at home with him, I have learned that I like to be on the go all the time. I decided that although I love kids and love to teach them and be around them; I don't think teaching is for me. So I thought long and hard about what I wanted to do for the rest of my life, the thing that kept coming in my head was photography. I love taking pictures of anything and everything. So last month I finally made the decision to go up to the school and change my major! Starting in August I will be doing all sorts of arts from photography to painting to ceramics! My major will be Bachelor in Fine Arts with a specialization in Photography! I am extremely excited about this and am absolutley positive this is what I am going to do for the rest of my life!!

I celebrated the new change in my life by going to Best Buy and purchasing a new Nikon D3000 and absolutely love it!! So I took Kaede out for a day of pictures all over the city!! We both had an absolute blast (until nap time)!!! Grammy and Kaede going for a walk!!

These are the only live and somewhat colorful bluebonnets I could find this year and they were in someones yard!! Next year I am definaltey gonna set out on a bluebonnet adventure!

I even had the pleasure of taking some pictures of one of Kaede's friends! Lola is certainly a character and soo much fun!

I am definaltey looking forward to the futrure and can actually say I am looking forward to school starting in the Fall!
