18 Months Old!

Dear Kaede,

I can not believe that my baby is 18 Months Old! Time has flown by! You are a total ball of energy! You are full of laughs all the time. On the other hand if you want something you will either find a way to do it all on your own or make it known! You are very independent but play very well with your friends! One of your best buds right know is Jayden Mattews.

Being a dare-devil doesn't even explain you, you are not afraid of ANYTHING!! You don't cry when I leave you with Grammy any more, you simply smile and wave bye. However, you still aren't happy when I leave you with anyone else (besides Daddy). You have always loved the beach but know that I take you out in the water you love it even more!

Besides a few words (hot, Daddy, Momma, and no,no,no) you still don't talk. The doctor is not concerned at all. You do have a lot of signs that you have learned over the past few months and use on a daily basis (dog, bird, hot, milk, more, phone, fish, food). You can also show me where your belly button, nose, eyes, ears and toes are when asked (sometimes mix up eyes and ears). When we ask you to find Mr.Beans you don't hesitate to find him, same thing with finding a passy. We I ask you who Daddy and Mommy are you can point to us! You are incredibly smart and even though you aren't talking you have no problems communicating with us!

I invited 2 of your friends over (Jayden and Arabella) for pizza and cupcakes on your 18 month birthday (June 22)

Daddy and I got you a mini wagon since you have a love of pushing things around...definitely best buy ever! As soon as we opened it you were trying to pick up Arabella and give her a ride in your wagon. Needless to say she was content with the stroll down the hallway!

After pizza we all dug into to the sprinkled cupcakes!

Our attempt at getting a group photo didn't go so well!! Sitting still was in no one's vocabulary except Arabella :)

I am looking forward to you being two but at the same time feel like you are growing up WAY to fast!!

I Love You With All My Heart!!

Love,

Momma

Father's Day/ Tony's Birthday

This year Tony's birthday landed on Father's Day! Kaede and I went to the pottery shop like last year and made a Father's Day present! Tony loved it, we have started a Father's Day collection of pottery.
Tony ended up having to work so my mom came over to help Kaede and I decorate!

Tony was very surprised when he got home!

After dinner he opened a few gifts and we had Ice Cream cake! I'm pretty sure his favorite part of the day (besides being with his family) was getting a Boston Celtic shower curtain for the bedroom bathroom!

Happy Birthday and Happy Father's Day

Kaede definitely enjoyed the cake!

Best Buddies!!!

Kaede and his buddy Jayden have been friends since Jayden and his Mommy and Daddy moved to Corpus! Lately they have become closer friends and love playing together and I love getting to spend time with Gina (Jayden's wonderful Mommy)!!!

Swim Lessons

Kaede has been to a few swim lesson classes and he does good for the most part! Until he decides he wants to swim on his own and doesn't realize he doesn't have his arm floats on! In class we worked on Kaede floating on his back, kicking his legs, blowing, reaching and pulling and so much more!
One of Kaede's favorite parts was when the instructor would "glide" him to me underwater.!

Summer!

Most of the time 4 out of the 7 days in a week we are either at the apartment pool or in some kind of water having fun!
Ever since I bought Kaede some floaty's for his arm he lasts at the pool for a good hour if not longer. He loves being independent and that he can jump in and come right back up to the top.

Splash Pad at the Aquarium

The new Splash Pad at the Texas State Aquarium recently opened and is a huge hit with Kaede! There is so much to do PLUS it is all water PLUS he can run around free!!

New York/ New Jersey - Part 2

We were very excited to get to tour New York during the day and with everyone! We took a train from New Jersey to New York. It was Kaede's first train ride and he had fun...after he got over being startled from a few trains that flew by. He had so much fun on the train and was passed back and forth with family to keep him entertained. Our first stop was Yankee stadium even though they were closed.

Macy's

Time Square at night was so fun...it was about 10pm if not later and was packed with people!!!

Kaede made time for a short nap...until the subway woke him.
Although we didn't go to the top of The Empire State building, it was very beautiful inside.

I let Kaede out of the stroller for 30 seconds and he was happy to be free from the stroller and carrier but thought he could run around...wrong!

The next day we spent the WHOLE day in New York and started off with a ferry ride.

It was so cool to see the statue of liberty in person.

The boat ride was so calm that it put Kaede to sleep. After the ferry we headed to Tony's cousins' restaurant so Kaede had his first taxi ride (not so much fun with no carseat) Kaede thought it was funny to try and climb thru the hole between the driver and backseat.

After lunch some of Tony's family showed us around Little Italy, China town, and Soho.

We found the Dash store!

Kaede figured out by throwing his crackers birds would come visit..before we knew it we had a whole family of birds next to us.

The top of Rockefeller Center was very cool.

Kaede's first subway ride.

Before we left New York we stopped by Ground Zero. All we could see was this new building that they were building, everything else was fenced off.

New York was an amazing experience, and Tony's family is awesome! I am so glad I had the opportunity to meet everyone and get to take a vacation away from Texas for a bit!
