New York/ New Jersey - Part 1

We drove to San Antonio to catch a 6:20 am flight to New Jersey for a wedding! One of Tony's cousins was getting married and he wouldn't miss it for anything. I was excited to meet the rest of Tony's family as well as take a vacation to New Jersey/New York!! This was the first time that Kaede would be in an airplane and I was nervous for 2 reasons. 1. because I didn't want him to be that screaming child the whole plane ride and 2. because if anyone one knows Kaede they know he has our sleeping habits...sleeping in until at least 9 am or else he is in a terrible mood! Definitely not a morning person.

So we headed to the San Antonio airport at 5:30 am and he was no were near falling back asleep. Once on the plane he pulled all the magazines out of all 3 seats and opened and closed the window a million times before we even took off! This made me even more nervous! He fell asleep as soon as the plane took off with his milk and was sleeping great...until they came around asking what people wanted to drink and woke him up! So we had 3 more hours in a plane with a non sleeping baby! He did pretty good though!!! Kaede couldn't go to the wedding since the wedding was at a house that was on a lake but he did get to go to the rehearsal dinner the night before!

Tony's Aunt Nina (the brides mom) provided an amazing babysitter to watch Kaede while we attended the wedding. I was very nervous since Kaede had only been watched by close friends and family but Kaede took right to her and did great! - The wedding was amazing! They added their own twist and danced down the isle!! - Here is the link to the wedding video to see it! - http://vimeo.com/24487794

After the wedding and the reception there was an after party. Tony's mom went back to the hotel to relieve the babysitter so Tony and I could go to the after party. The party was in New York at Xan's bar (the bride). They provided a bus and we had a fun ride into the city!
The bar was closed to the guests only and it was complete open bar and karaoke! It normally doesn't close until 4am but the bus brought us back to New Jersey at 2! It was a complete blast and I was very excited to for the upcoming days to tour New York in the day time!

I have been meaning to post these for a while but keep forgetting!!

Kaede is 15 Months old in the video... Needless to say, I was very excited when he started saying Momma!!!!

I have to give my mom credit for this one! While staying with her one evening she taught him to show how old he is! We ask him so much becasue we are so proud that he does it sometimes without us asking!

1st Beach trip of the summer.

The end of May is the perfect time of the year to start heading out to the beach! I was a little unsure on how Kaede would react but to my surprise he loved every minute and did not want to come home!! He was doing a great job digging a sand hole until the water came up filled his hole! But he didn't let that stop him!

Kaede's favorite part by far was being able to run free!!!

We will definatley have many more beach trips this summer!

Wedding Time!

I met Valerie and her cousin Melanie in middle school. We remained friends thru high school and I attended their big graduation bash in 2006! Now 2011 has come around and I have a baby and Valerie got married!!
Kaede had an absolute blast at the wedding. I was a bit apprehensive about bringing him but there were tons of kids and he got to run free at the reception!
They had a cool photo booth at the reception that printed out a copy for you to keep and also one got printed and put into a memory book for the bride and groom! Too fun!
Kaede had a blast and was a trooper thru the ceremony and all!

Fire Station Visit!

After Stroller Strides we got to visit a local Fire Station as a group! We got a tour of the inside of the station and then went downstairs to watch a Fireman go down the pole! Kaede's favorite part by far was sitting in the drivers spot!! He cried when his turn was over and went to the back of the line for a second time all on his own!
Kaede was nice enough to share his second turn with his good buddy Jayden on his second turn too!!

Kaede hates putting hats on but was a trooper by trying on the HEAVY Firemans helmet!

Kaede couldn't leave the Fire Station without giving high five's to everyone!

Rainy Day!!

We FINALLY got some much needed rain here in Corpus...it has been quite a while since it had rain so Kaede was unsure of the thunder and lightening but was still very curious to check it out! He takes his rain boots out of his closet all the time and he finally could wear them!

It was only 3 o'clock when I took this picture and very dark out!! Kaede was VERY proud of his rain boots!
When the rain finally stopped there were TONS of puddles to play in. The sun came out and we definitely did not hesitate to go out and have some fun.

I was unsure of what Kaede was trying to accomplish until I looked closer... and he was trying to drink the water!

...And thought it was absolutely hilarious!

Kaede went over to one of the chairs by the pool and took a break from all of his splashing.

And then went to play in the mud!

Kaede had so much fun in the puddles...now time to battle the mosquitoes!

The Life of Mr. Beans

December 23, 2010 a green fuzzy monkey came into Kaede's life from his Uncle Marc and Aunt Michelle as a welcome to the world present. It had no name and hung out in Kaede's crib most of the time. Kaede was about 6 months old when he started being attached to the monkey but it was nothing serious, he just liked to have him when he slept. When we moved to our apartment when Kaede was about 10 months old the monkey started hanging out with the family instead of just in Kaede's crib. Soon after he acquired the name Mr. Beans!

Little did we know how important Mr. Beans was to Kaede! He is a great sleeping buddy for Kaede!
Mr. Beans also travels all over the place!!
Mr. Beans has been to the San Antonio Zoo!

For Kaede's 1st birthday Aunt Michelle got Kaede a back up Mr. Beans due to the fact that Mr. Beans was getting pretty beaten up! We have used him a few times but he pretty much lives in the closet!

Mr. Beans ate lunch with the family in Port Aransas!

Mr. Beans and Kaede are ready to watch the Celtics game!

Mr. Beans must get a good nap in!!

Mr. Beans went to H-E-B!

Mr. Beans got a much needed bath!

Mr. Beans often goes to Stroller Strides in the mornings!

And of course Mr. Beans gets LOTS of hugs!

Mr. Beans enjoys watching TV with Kaede

Recently Mr. Beans joined us at the Driscoll Urgent Care center when Kaede had a 104 fever!
Today Mr. Beans joined Kaede on our afternoon wagon ride!!

Mr. Beans is usually always in a close radius to Kaede! When we ask Kaede where Mr. Beans is he quickly runs and gets him! This is an extremely small list of all the places Mr. Beans joins us!

We love Mr. Beans!!

Slide = Too much fun!

One of Kaede's good friends has a bigger version of this slide and Kaede LOVES to play on it! I have never been into craigslist but I got on one day to look for the Little Tykes Coupe Car and instead came across this! It was an absolute steal! I couldn't pass it up! It was less than a year old in perfect condition except the slide was sun faded! After buying it and bringing it upstairs Kaede instantly got on it! -- My next issue....where to put it in a small apartment! I didn't want to take Kaede's rocking chair out of his room but it was time! I don't remember the last time I rocked since I started just laying him down so he could fall asleep alone. So out went the rocking chair, in came the slide!!
Needless to say, he was very excited! The slide is definitely Kaede's favorite thing to do at the park so perfect we can slide inside too!
Except now his room isn't a baby room but rather a toddler room that is overcome by huge toys!!
